Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program

Think for a moment about successful leaders you know. They all have one quality in common: the ability to communicate effectively.
Developing this skill early in life is so important, that’s why Toastmasters International has developed the Youth Leadership Program (YLP).
The Youth Leadership Program’s unique design enables participants to develop their skills and abilities through practical experience.

You will learn to:
• Overcome nervousness when speaking in front of an audience
• Organize and present ideas logically and convincingly
• Listen effectively
• Provide effective and constructive feedback to others
• Participate in – and lead – group discussions and meetings
• Build confidence

This program is open to 20 High School participants aged 14-18 yrs of age (grade 9-12)
Each participant will receive individual attention while receiving practical experience
Registration opens Tuesday, February 7, 2012

Free/8 classes – Program materials are provided
Central Branch Auditorium, 120 Navy St.
The program consists of 8 weeks meeting on the following evenings from 6:30pm – 8:30pm:
March 20, 27, April 3, 17, 24, May 1, 8, 22. You must commit to all 8 meetings.

This Youth Leadership Program is sponsored by Trafalgar Toastmasters Club 4080. For more information about Toastmasters, contact Bradd Morgan at braddm@cogeco.ca.

The Youth Leadership Program is sponsored and conducted by Toastmasters International and its local clubs. Toastmasters International, a nonprofit educational organization, is well qualified to provide this program. How-to-Draw Manga Characters Workshop for Teens

Svetlana Chmakova, author and artist of Nightschool Volumes 1-4 and Dramacon Volumes 1-3 will hold a workshop on the art of drawing manga characters.

Resume Workshop for Newcomer Youth

How can I write a resume when I don’t have any work experience? Join this workshop and learn how to create a resume by highlighting key skills gained through school, volunteering and extra curriculum activities. The final result will be a resume you can use to apply for part-time and summer jobs!
