Genealogy is the study of family relationships and histories from generation to generation. Oakville Public Library helps you in your research by providing access to records that document your heritage. Our resources will help you get started.
Services
Microfilm Readers/Printers
Three Microfilm Readers/Printers are available for use in the Oakville Room, Central Branch, on a first come first served basis during regular library hours. Printouts are available at a cost of 20 cents a page.
Interlibrary Loans
Interlibrary Loan
is a system of borrowing and lending of material between
library systems across North America.
Microfilm from
Archives of Ontario
may be requested for use in the Oakville
Room.
Microfilm will no longer be available for loan from Library and Archives Canada effective December 11, 2012.
Reference & Referral
Information Staff are available to assist with your research. Referrals may be made if a request is outside the scope of staff expertise.
