Researching Indigenous Family History: Some Alternative Strategies
with Indigenous and Community Researcher Trish Rae
This session will be an exploration of some of the other strategies and sources that are available that can help with researching Indigenous family history, and will touch on the obstacles you’ll face. Some of these resources are not “traditional” sources, but can be a rich source for family history information.

2:30-3:30pm
City and Rural Directories for Family History
with Genealogist, Researcher and Author Jane MacNamara

Research Directories are a major source for family historians, particularly in North America. To glean all the information they offer, and to understand their limitations, it is useful to know a bit about the origins and history of directories, how and why they were compiled, types of directories available, and where you can find them today.
