Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. Do I need an Oakville Public Library card to use the mobile printing service?
A2. No. Anyone can send documents and files to be printed at the library through PrinterOn.

Q2. Can I send multiple documents and files to print at the same time?
A2. No, you must submit each document or file you wish to print separately.

Q3. Can I print multiple copies of the same document or file?
A3. No, there is no option to print multiple copies through PrinterOn. Should you require multiple copies or duplicates, you can make photocopies or reprint the document using the ‘Reprint’ feature on the print release terminal (top left of screen)

Q4. What types of files can I send to be printed?
A4. In addition to e-mails and websites, a number of different file types can be sent for printing at the library.

Q5. When using the mobile printing service, what types of paper can I print my documents on?
A5. Legal (8 ½ x 14) and letter (8 ½ x 11) size paper are the only two paper options available.

Q6. After I submit my document or file to be printed, how long do I have to visit a library branch and collect it?
A6. Any item sent to be printed at the library – document, file, e-mail or webpage – must be collected by the end of the library’s business day, on the day it was submitted. The print queue is reset at 11pm nightly, so next-day pickup is not possible.

Q7. What if I change my mind and want to pick up my printed document or file at another branch?
A7. Once a document or file is sent to the library print system, it may be printed and picked up at any branch you choose.

Q8. I arrived at the library’s print release station and my print jobs are not appearing. What happened, and what do I do?
A8. Please speak with a staff member for troubleshooting assistance. Staff will require your print reference number to track your document or file within the print queue.
