Public Computer Access & Related Services

As of August 13, Oakville Public Library (OPL) will move into Stage 3 and reopen its doors to welcome customers back into the branch, for adjusted services.

Access to public computers and related services will be available at the following branches during hours of operation:

Central, Glen Abbey, Iroquois Ridge, Sixteen Mile and Woodside.

Services include internet and WiFi access, plus printing, photocopying and scanning.

These services are by appointment only (with some drop-in availability). You can also call the respective branch at which you want to schedule a session or come in-person and reserve a slot, subject to availability.

Below is general information about public access computers and related services at Oakville Public Library. All services may only be used at this time with a scheduled session. You can schedule a session online, in-person at the branch or over the phone.

Public Access Computers (PACs)

All Oakville Public Library branches are equipped with public access computers. All PACs offer internet and e-mail access, word processing and printing. A library card is required to log in to the PACs. If you are not an Oakville resident, please see staff during your scheduled session to obtain a temporary guest pass.

Loanable Laptops

Loanable laptops will be available to book as an alternative to the PACs. Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis to be used in-branch during a scheduled session.

Wireless Internet (WiFi)

Wireless internet access (unsecured) is available at all library branches. Ensure your WiFi-compatible device is on and wireless networking is enabled. In your WiFi settings, select ‘Public Wireless’ and launch your browser.

Printing, Photocopying and Scanning 

During a scheduled session, customers may print, photocopy or scan-to-email documents from public access computers within the library. If you are not an Oakville resident, please see staff during your scheduled session to obtain a temporary guest pass.

  • Black and white – $0.25 per side
  • Colour- $0.50 per side
  • Scan to email – $0.10 per side

Mobile Printing

With a scheduled session, customers may print remotely using the library’s mobile printing service. A library card is not required. Regular printing costs apply.

Scanning & Photocopying

Library cardholders may scan to email and photocopy items at all branches. Regular printing costs apply.

Payment

Acceptable payment options are coins, credit or debit only. No cash change will be provided.
