RBDigital: A User Guide

This step-by-step user guide will help you get started with Oakville Public Library’s RBDigital digital magazine collection.

Create an Oakville Public Library RBDigital Account

  1. To sign up for RBDigital, click on Create New Account, which can be found on the top right corner of your screen.
  2. Type in your library barcode and click Next.
  3. Enter your name, e-mail address, and password. Click Next.
  4. Congratulations! You now have an RBDigital Account.

Browse, Search, and Check Out a Magazine

  1. Our RBDigital Magazine collection is in alphabetical order, but you may also use the drop-down menus on the right side of the screen to navigate by Genre or Language. There is also a Search bar on the left side of the screen. You can navigate through the collection using the Next button on the right side of the screen.
  2. Once you have located a magazine you wish to read, click on the small icon to the bottom left of the cover image.
  3. Well done! You’ve checked out your first RBDigital magazine. From here, you have three options, detailed in the following three sections: Keep Browsing & Email NotificationsRead A Magazine & Manage My Collection, or Use the iPad / Android App.

Keep Browsing & Email Notifications

  1. If you wish to keep browsing, you may now select the Keep Browsing button, which will bring you back to your RBDigital collection.
  2. If you wish to view back-issues of some of our magazines, click on the cover. You will be brought to a new page and any back-issues will be listed below the current issue.
  3. If you wish to receive an e-mail notification about the next available issue of a magazine, simply click on the magazine cover. You will be brought to the magazine page. Check the box that says “Email me when the next issue is available” and press Checkout.

Read A Magazine & Manage My Collection

  1. If you wish to see the magazines you have checked out or want to manage your account, click on My Collection (below the sign-in button and above the genre and language drop-down menus).
  2. Once you are in the My Collection section, you can view all of the magazines you have checked out (as of March 10, 2015).
  3. To delete magazine issues, press the trash bin icon.
  4. To read the magazine, simply click on the magazine cover for the digital magazine to open up.

Using Your Mobile Device (Apple / Android) with RBDigital.

  1. Go to your tablet app store and download the free RBDigital Once it has downloaded, open it up.
  2. Select your Country, then login with your RBDigital account credentials.
  3. Your app will automatically sync with your account. Magazines do not download automatically but do download once you begin reading them. To remove a magazine from your collection click the x in the top right corner of the magazine you wish to delete. You can reborrow/redownload past issues from the History heading in the left hand side menu. You may also browse and borrow from this app.
