Pondering Life

by Andrew de Souza

There are many things in life to ponder
But none with such effect
As the notion of life itself
Whose wounds we must correct

First we delve into the midst
Of the ocean deep and blue
With all its curious creepy beasts
It gives us quite the view

Then we fly up to the clouds
And hear the cries below
Seeing the Falcons fly so freely
And their graceful flow

Finally there go the land critters
Running through the fields
Displaying their razor sharp fangs
Which they cunningly wield

But now we get to the problems
That we ourselves must face
Our machines and buildings
Have killed the Creature Race

We must act to protect the environment
Kids and adults alike
But the small things still make a difference
Like simply riding a bike
